Sermon on Fellowship in Philippians
Christianity is the joy of fellowship we have with Jesus and those like-minded people who have the same fellowship. Thus, having fellowship with Jesus also gives us fellowship with one another. That is not to say we all think and act alike at all times, but it is to say we have the same foundation and cornerstone: Christ Jesus. We are led by the same Spirit and taught by the same gospel. Whether we exercise the same gifts of the Spirit or not, we are serving the same God, and that is our joy. Paul described this fellowship as having one another in our minds, hearts, and prayers. To God be the glory.

The Joy of Fellowship
Biblically, fellowship is described as coming together with other people or to have something in common with other people. The result of fellowship is to bring encouragement to others. As a church, what we all have in common is our love of the Lord and our obedience to Him. Scripture reveals a number of abilities that are supplied to the church. In Romans we read:
We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.
Romans 12:6-8
As we each exercise the giftedness from God and work toward glorifying Him, the resulting action is encouragement for one another.
