Missionary Outreach Ministry

The Missionary Outreach Ministry of Lucerne Community Church is dedicated to supporting missionaries called to teach and preach the gospel to all nations. In our foyer, you will find a world map of where our current missionaries are located. Also, there are binders with more information about each of the missionaries and missionary organizations we actively support. The Missionary Outreach Ministry is one way we seek to be faithful to obey Jesus’s command in the great commission.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19-20a).

We hope that you will join us to spread the good news of Jesus Christ.

What do missionaries do?

Missionaries meet both physical and spiritual needs of the people they serve. These godly men and women pour their hearts and souls into people so as to not only tell them about the love of Christ but to demonstrate it as well. Because no two mission fields are the same, missionary work is a dynamic and ever-changing way of life. Below are some activities that missionaries often engage in outside of evangelism and discipleship:

  • church plantingMissionary Outreach picture of overlapping hands
  • home Bible studies
  • teaching English as a second language
  • teaching computer skills
  • building homes
  • creating community gardens
  • relief projects
  • children’s clubs
  • literacy teaching

Some Christians are missionaries on foreign soil, while some Christians are missionaries at home. We are active in supporting the Lord’s work both abroad and at home. We provide financial support to both traveling and local missionaries, and we train and equip believers within our church to share the gospel. At this time, we support, to the best of our ability, The Claasen and Bruner families in Papa New Guinea;  The California Motorcyclists Association (aka CMA); Friends of Israel; and The Center for Life Choices.
